Online craps is not for the uninitiated. There are a large number of bets on offer and many of them have atrociously low average returns. For all practical purposes these are sucker bets. This article explains three online craps bets that are safe.
The simplest online craps bet is Pass Line. It has to be placed before the come out roll, which is the first roll of a new session. You will find the Pass Line location on the bottom of the layout. The Pass Line bet immediately wins if the come out roll shows 7 or 11. It immediately loses if the come out roll shows 2, 3 or 12. If any other number is rolled then that number is established as a point. In this event the Pass Line bet is carried forward till it is decided. It wins if the point is rolled again before 7. It loses if 7 is rolled before the point. The Pass Line bet pays even money and has an average return of 98.6%.
The Field Bets can be placed before any roll and will be immediately decided in that roll. The chips are placed in the large field box on the layout that has numbers 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 listed in a row. If any of the numbers listed in the field box are rolled then the Field bet wins, otherwise it loses. The payouts for all the winning numbers are not the same. If any of 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11 are rolled the payout is even money. The numbers 2 pays 2 to 1 and 12 pays out at 3 to 1. The average return is 97.3%. You have to be careful of one thing. In some online craps games 12 also pays 2 to 1. Then the Field bet becomes unviable.
The Place bet is placed after the come out roll, when a point is established. The point could be any of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10. You have to wager for that particular point by putting the chips on that number near the top of the online craps layout. The bet will win if the point is rolled again before 7 and will lose if 7 is rolled before that point. You should go for the Place bet only when the point is 6 or 8 and not otherwise. The payout in either case is 7 to 6 with an average return of 98.5%. As a new player you should avoid buying or laying place bets.
